DIY Vampire Bites for Halloween

Today I want to teach you a cool trick to make some DIY vampire bites using some Elmer’s glue and fake blood.

This is a cool trick I learned how to do when I was in elementary school. I would always rub Elmer’s glue on my arm, wait for it to dry, peel up the sides a bit and color the inside with a red marker. It would look like I had a wound on my arm. Back then, I wanted to be a movie makeup artist, so I thought I was pretty cool doing this little trick. The funny thing is that my coworker just mentioned today that “you can do some awesome Halloween makeup with just some Elmer’s glue”. She taught me a neat trick to make dead-looking skin for a zombie costume with glue.

Anyways, I just wanted to put my Elmer’s glue wound trick in action by creating some vampire bites. In the today’s society, where vampires are awesome (Team Edward, btw), this would be a perfect look for Halloween.

Step 1: Get the Glue On Your Skin

So the first thing you want to do is pour a bit of Elmer’s glue on your hand. You could theoretically skip this step or pour it on a different surface, but I like to use my hand for this type of thing.

Next, you need to put a thin layer of the glue on your neck (preferably over the main artery, where the vampire would bite you). Make another dab right next to it.

Step 2: Peel Up The Edges

Allow the glue to dry for about 20 minutes or so and then peel up the edges. I know you can’t see too much from the picture, but the edges were slightly peeled up. You don’t want to completely peel them off, but just a little bit around the edges.

Step 3: Let The Blood Drip

You can use a red marker if you really want, but I just picked up some fake blood from the Halloween store for 2$. Because I was working on such a small area, I applied the blood with a Q-tip.

Use the blood to fill in the inside of the “wounds”. I also applied red lipstick for dramatic effect, while waiting for the blood to dry.

Now, you could stop here if you want, and maybe it would fool a few people throughout the day. However, I think it looks like I have 2 pimples on my neck, and would probably look more believable to have blood oozing out.

Now, you can even take it even a step further if you want, and add blood around the corners of your mouth. This makes it seem like you are a vampire that was bitten, and now you are craving blood. Voila! You are now a vampire!
