Want to look hot for 2016? Well, I want to share with you 7 of the most popular hairstyles of 2016 so far…
The most popular hairstyles of 2016 are pretty diverse. Everything from super straight hair to the “just rolled out of bed” look is popular. These seven different styles are just a taste of what’s in store for 2016.
In runway fashion, you are seeing a lot of models tucking their hair into a choker or scarf around their neck. This trend originated from the idea that you can tie a ribbon around your neck and wrap your hair in it. This would cause the ribbon to double as a choker in front and a hair bow in the back.
Extremely straight hair is making a comeback this year. This makes me pretty happy since I am a millennial, stuck in the early 2000’s when straight hair was cool. However, that much flat-ironing will make your hair not happy, so remember to use a thermal protectant.
Low pigtails are making a comeback as one of the most popular hairstyles of 2016 also. This also makes me excited, because I just cut my hair pretty short recently, and it is too short to put in a ponytail. In other words, I’ve been wearing my hair in low pigtails for the last month or so. I was rocking a hot 2016 hair trend without even knowing it.
Bright Flowers and Tiaras
Wearing blingy tiaras is very popular this spring, especially when paired with the low pigtails. Beyond tiaras, any other type of shiny accessory is seen a lot on the runway. On the other side of the spectrum, bright flower arrangements are also hot right now.
Last year, it was all about the loose, boho look. This year, it’s all about tight, neat braids. Your braids don’t have to be so tight that they will cause breakage, but just make sure they are clean and semi-tight to pull off this trend.
Nothing says “women empowerment” like chopping your hair right off, and the runways are embracing that. Sexual equality is a hot topic right now, outside of the fashion world and I believe that this style stems from that. You can find videos on Instagram of girls completely shaving their head.
Not ready to take the plunge? Undercuts and sidecuts are ultra-popular ways to have the best of both worlds.
The radio talk show that I always listen to were talking about current trends the other day. They said that the fashion industry is encouraging models to not shower, etc. so that they can be more natural. They also talked about how this is the next coming of the grunge look. The hair industry has cashed in on this as well, as they encourage people to let your natural hair shine through.
Your Turn: What do you think of these hot hair trends of 2016? Would you sport any of them? I’d love to read your feedback in the comments section below…
