In case you didn’t know, I have a second job at Sally Beauty Supply. Naturally, we sell many hot tools (curling irons / flat irons) that are made with nano-silver technology. I generally know most of the terminology associated with styling tools, but I’m never really sure what nano-silver technology meant. Since people ask me about it all the time, I guess it is time to learn the truth…
Nano-Silver Technology
Let’s start with a fun fact about silver. Silver is really good for you and is known for its antibacterial and antifungal properties. Some people (like myself) even take “colloidal silver” on a daily basis. It does a variety of things from boosting your immune system to killing illnesses. So, if silver is this “miracle substance,” why not use it on your hair? In fact, it can leave your hair clean and healthy after using it.
However, nano-silver technology basically means that tiny silver particles mix with tiny ceramic particles. Together, they emit negative ions and far infrared heat which seals the cuticle layer and eliminates frizz. Far infrared heat penetrates the hair from within, for gentle styling without damaging the hair. The result? Silky, smooth hair.
Tip: Don’t forget to pair this with a high-quality heat protectant made for flat ironing!
