Dumb Blonde by TIGI Bedhead

So right now, my boyfriend husband is attempting to install a screen door in the front doorway of my house. I decided to take a break from helping him and talk about this awesome hair product, Dumb Blonde by TIGI.

Dumb Blonde shampoo and conditioner by TIGI Bedhead are pretty amazing. Have you tried it yet? The first reason you should use it is...

Before I get into the product, let me tell you that I have super bleached hair. I bleach my hair…. a lot. My poor hair has been through hell and back, on multiple occasions.

I’m as indecisive as possible. I often find myself lightening my black hair to platinum blonde hair, just to go dark again later.

I would never advise anyone to do this, as it will literally wreak havoc on your hair. Black hair color is extremely hard to lift out of your hair and takes a lot of bleach.

Anyways, I digress. My poor hair was completely fried off for a while. I went through a period where my bangs were so short that I had to constantly wear a headband to try to keep them from standing up.

After a while, I realized that I am happiest when I have blonde hair, so I decided I was going to keep it that way forever.

Now, a quick chemistry lesson on hair:

Hair is 88% composed of a protein known as keratin. When you lighten your hair, it removes the color molecules in your hair, leaving it a pale yellow color (which is the natural color of keratin.)  It also removes some of the protein (and moisture) from your hair.

Another thing that bleach does, is it opens up the cuticle on each hair shaft. The more you lighten your hair, the less your cuticle will ever close back down.

This is why a lot of people like to bleach their hair before adding punky semi-permanent hair color, or why bleached hair turns green with chlorine (because the color molecules have an easier time entering the hair shaft when the cuticle is open). When the cuticle is open, hair becomes porous like a sponge.

The funny thing is that as messed up as I think my hair is, people always tell me how healthy it looks. The trick is that I spend a lot of time repairing my hair.

Dumb Blonde by TIGI Bedhead

Anyways, the main purpose of this post is to talk about my favorite shampoo that I use every day to help repair my hair. It’s called “Dumb Blonde” by TIGI Bedhead. I absolutely love it.

It makes my hair feel so good and also smells delightful. My old boss used to tell people that it smelled like funfetti (and it totally does).

The main benefit of Dumb Blonde shampoo/conditioner is that it restores the protein in your hair. It uses Pro-vitamin B-5, wheat and soy to really bring your hair back to life. It also helps level the hair porosity and adds moisture, while balancing the pH of your hair.

Dumb Blonde is not just used for blondes though. It can be used to protein-treat any type of hair. It even says on the bottle, “Not just for Dumb Blondes- it’s for Racy Redheads and Buxom Brunettes too”. Read more about it from the TIGI Official Website.
