The holiday season is officially here, and today, I want to talk about some fantastic Christmas hair color ideas!
When I originally wrote this blog post, I was on maternity leave, and my husband stayed home to help me take care of our babies that day.
It snowed all day, and nobody in my family needed to leave the house.
My husband and I decorated our tree and set up the Christmas decorations. I wore our newborn baby in a Boba wrap, and our 1-year-old daughter generously helped decorate.
I remember that day- it was so relaxing and really put me in the Christmas spirit that year.
This year, as I sit here updating this post to be republished, it’s almost the exact same scenario, except now I have two sets of toddler’s hands, helping us decorate.
As challenging as that can be, I wouldn’t have it any other way. These are memories I’ll never forget, and it takes Christmas to a whole new level for me.
So what better way for me to show my love of Christmas than to showcase some delicious shades of Christmas hair color? I’m not gonna lie… they’re pretty amazing…

10. Silver Hair
I’m gonna kick off this list with good ‘ole silver hair since silver is a color typically used in Christmas decor. Additionally, it’s a cooler-toned color that resembles ice (for that reason, it’s also on my list of winter hair color).
If you’re into silver hair, you’re sure to love my list of 10 different shades of grey!
9. Golden Red Balayage
Spoiler alert: most colors on this list are different variations of typical Christmas colors. On that note, it’s pretty common to see red and gold used together in Christmasy things.
What better way to highlight that idea with some gold and red balayage?
Okay, burgundy is not a color commonly used in Christmas decor. However, most people like to let the wine flow around the holidays, making it a staple of a Christmas diet.

7. Steel Teal
I love the idea of mixing green and silver together to make a fancy, fun Christmas hair color. I feel like you can use any shade of green (including teal), and it could be either vibrant or faded to look the part.
Either way, it’s still gonna look like Christmas.
6. Rose Gold
Let’s get back to the gold colors, but with a twist. You know I am all about that rose gold everything.
I feel like rose gold is the perfect Christmas hair color. It’s classy, elegant, and fun! I love everything about it.
5. Fire And Ice
Similar to the green and grey trend, I think red and silver is a really cool way to show your Christmas spirit. It’s a unique look and would set you apart from any crowd.
4. Dark Green Ombre
I love the idea of dark green ombre! Dark brown or black hair blended into a dark, vibrant green hair color would make a bold statement this holiday season.
3. Icy Blonde
Like silver hair, an icy platinum or ash blonde represents snow and cold weather, which goes hand-in-hand with Christmas. I’d say the cooler the tones, the better when it comes to blonde this year.

2. Straight Red And Green
If you really want to show your Christmas spirit, green and red hair is the way to go. It just takes one glance at these hair colors to know they’re meant for Christmas!
There are so many fun ways to incorporate bold red and green hair colors into your hair. Highlights, peek-a-boo streaks, all-over color, and balayage are all great ways to add the iconic colors to your hair.
1. Candy Cane Hair
Nothing says Christmas like a nice, tasty candy cane!
#CandyCaneHair is my absolute favorite idea for a Christmas hair color! It’s so unique and creative that I even wrote a post about candy cane hair a few years ago!
Bonus Picks: Glitz and Glam
For a little extra added Christmas pizzazz, add some sparkles and glam to any hair color! It’ll take you the extra mile!
Christmas is a magical time of year, filled with wonder and excitement. Even though it’s cold outside and the days are way shorter, it’s perfect for cuddling up by the fireplace and spending time with your loved ones.
As one of the happiest times of the year, it’s quickly becoming an inspiration for fun hair color ideas across the world.
Even though the possibilities are endless, this list is made from some of the best Christmas hair colors I’ve seen so far! I absolutely love the creativity behind each of them!
Well, I hope you have an amazing holiday filled with love and beautiful hair! May all your wishes come true!
Until next time,
