Let’s talk about the most iconic hairstyles of the past 100 years. If you take a snapshot of any point in history, the odds are that people thought they had the best hairstyles ever to exist. Nowadays, when we look back at some of the hairstyles in the past, we thank the good lord that we didn’t live in that time period. I, personally, love all the different hairstyles from the different eras, and think they are all unique in their own ways. It’s crazy interesting to see how everything has evolved throughout the years. My boyfriend came up with the idea …
Do you remember back to 2012 when Kim Kardashian’s blonde hair was the thing everyone talked about? Kim is known for being bold and trying new things and she is no stranger to blonde hair. Welcome to the blonde side, Kim! Get ready to have more fun!
This week I chose Kim Kardashian’s blonde hair for my Celebrity Hairstyle of the Week. On Friday, she tweeted pictures of her new blonde ombré color.
This week, I decided to choose Beyoncé’s new hair as my Celebrity Hairstyle of the Week. Rihanna, who has close ties with Beyoncé and her husband, Jay-Z, recently tweeted a beautiful picture of the Queen.
Along with the picture, she stated that “This pic could single handedly destroy the self esteem of an entire nation.”
This week, I chose Gabrielle Douglas for my Celebrity Hairstyle of the Week. I realize that last week I chose an Olympian and I already posted an article about Gabby’s hair. However, it really bothers me to see how much she is being so ridiculed. Plus, I think she is perfectly beautiful!
To be completely honest, I usually don’t follow a lot of sports or even the Olympics, but for some reason, I feel really drawn to Gabby. Her story is just so amazing and I love watching her kill it on her floor routine. She just has so much charisma, charm, and grace all packed into her tiny body.
Do you remember when Gabby Douglas became the first African American to win an individual gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics? This young girl accomplished so much more than anyone could ever dream of. However, the social media world focused in on Gabby Douglas’ hair rather than her accomplishments.
To further iterate, Gabby Douglas won a gold medal for both the Women’s Gymnastics Individual All-Around and Team All-Around in 2012. Standing tall at 4’11”, she was nicknamed the “flying squirrel” for her amazing ability to work the aerial bars. She is the first woman of African descent to become an all-around champion, and the first American Gymnast to win the gold for both the individual and team all-around.
Let me clarify what “all-around” means. It means she won the gold for the overall score of all women’s gymnastics events, including the vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise. At 16 years old, she has devoted her entire life and sacrificed her family and body to become an Olympic Gold Medalist. She is literally the poster child for women empowerment…
