So as I just finished reading the newest issue of Cosmo Magazine, I realized that there were at least 3 different ads for 3 different types of BB Creams. I’ve seen these new products advertised before, but never really stopped to realize that I didn’t know what they are. But after a little bit of research, I want to share what I discovered with you guys.
What is BB Cream?
- First off, BB cream stands for “blemish balm,” “blemish base,” or “beauty balm”.
- The concept of BB cream originates from Asia. It is designed to combine and replace serum, moisturizer, primer, foundation and sunscreen, as an all-in-one product.
- BB creams are also formulated to match your skin tone and to treat and conceal acne, inflammation and wrinkles.
They should probably call this stuff “miracle cream” instead. It’s no wonder why it has become more and more popular in the United States recently.
On a similar note, there are other types of “alphabet creams” like CC creams and DD creams. CC creams are “color-correcting creams” which tend to be lighter than BB creams, but still similar. A BB/CC hybrid cream called the “DD cream” or “Dynamic Do-All cream” is new to the market, so look out for that too!
Most people prefer the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream, according to a blind test study.
