Hello! My name is Hollee… but you can call me “Hollee Wood.”

Hollee Wood 2018

I am a licensed cosmetologist with over 9 years of professional experience in the hair industry.  My areas of expertise include hair color, the science of hair, haircuts, hair styling and even some business advice (I also have a business degree and years of experience running a small business).  Outside of work and school, I’ve spent hundred of hours furthering my education in hair science, so I can provide the best advice possible to my readers.

Furthermore, I also have extensive experience working in the retail side of the hair industry, in which I’ve helped customers pick out the correct products needed for various do-it-yourself hair projects.

I’m kinda obsessed with everything that has to do with hair and makeup.  I absolutely love blogging about beauty and helping my followers with any questions they might have.

On a more personal note, I am a thirty-something year old woman from Nevada.  I have been married to my husband for almost three years, and we have the most perfect daughter we could ever ask for.  Additionally, we have another baby girl on the way, so be prepared for some articles about kid hairstyles and hair care.

I would love to work with reputable advertisers and product distributors or collaborate with fellow bloggers in the hair/beauty/makeup niche.  If you have any business proposals, questions or inquiries about me or this blog, please do not hesitate to e-mail me at [email protected] or leave it in a comment.

For questions regarding hair advice, I ask that you please leave the question in the comment section of an article (The Golden Rule of Lifting Hair Color is a popular question forum) so that other readers can read the question and answer.  Thanks for your understanding and participation.

Also, please don’t forget to follow HolleewoodHair on Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram for more opportunities to learn about hair and beauty.  I’ll love you forever if you do.

Thank you so much for the continued support <3

  1. Hi I am so happy I found you. Please help. When I was younger I colored my hair with henna n than haircolor. When I was 22 I tried to go back to m natural colr But I began ro show White not close to grey. So I kept on dying. I stayed in a dark brown bc I am so fair. Now I have moved to warmer weather n its not working. I asked my NY stylist and she says auburn. Kinda what I was born as. I do 4N now. My husband never liked the color as time passed ao we made a deal u color than take me for a cut. It worked for years. But my white is showwing after 2 weeks. TIme is not alllowing me to tell him do it. So I have been looking online. I know 4 N can be changed without removing. Sally reccommended something. If I do it. How long do you reccomend to wait befor afdding new color. I am thinkingMed Auburn n highlights of maybe carmel. It may hide the whit on the part lines. What do you think or suggest. My colorist uis saying 7 but what is that. I am so light I cant pull offf blond if I do it turns orange in a week. so not cool. Pleasw help get me a plan.
    Thanks

    • Sorry it took so long to get back to you! I have been realllllly busy lately :-/ Anyways, I just want to clarify, that you’re trying to add caramel highlights to your 4n color. Caramel is a good choice, because it will be hard to lift your hair too much because of how many times it has been colored with henna and 4n. I’m not sure what your colorist means about 7… that might refer to the level of blonde he/she thinks they can achieve (https://www.holleewoodhair.com/2014/10/19/hair-color-numbers/2/). Level 7 blonde sounds about right for caramel color so that’s probably what he/she means. I would definitely have your colorist do your highlights for you since they are so hard to do on yourself. They will have to lighten your hair first, and then add a caramel color or toner to it to make it that color. Just keep in mind that caramel will have a goldish tone to it. I would do a little bit at a time so that it isn’t too crazy at first. Hope this helps!

  2. Hello,
My name is Graham and I am contacting you on behalf of a new TV show entitled “Let me entertain you”. The show is called “Let Me Entertain You” and centers around ordinary people (and not so ordinary!) singing and dancing at home.

We are very interested in featuring your video JB One Time LipSync at the Salon! on our show and I was wondering if it was possible to talk about using the videos on the show non-exclusively.
We’d love to talk more about featuring your video on our new show that we’re producing for the UK channel ITV.

    My email is [email protected]
please respond ASAP so we can discuss it more
If you have any questions at all please do ask.

    Many thanks and speak soon

    Graham
