Wow I didn’t know half of this information about hair! This is very cool and interesting information.

  5. Whoa, I didn’t know most of these! A head of hair can hold 2 tons? I don’t ever want to test that one out 😄 I’ve always been very interested in human anatomy and physiology, and you just fed my curiosity. Thanks, I’ll be sharing these with my kiddos, too!

  6. A whole head of hair could support up to 2 tons, wtf so then the garnier ads that I always see are true? Pulling a truck with hair… teehee!

I never knew there were so many facts about hair, how interesting! I still cant believe there are between 100,000 and 150,000 strands of hair on their head.

  9. There was a time when I thought I was shedding more than just 150 strands of hair in a day. I think this was an after effect of my blonde ambition, lol. My hair got all dry and damaged and broke easily that I almost regret getting my hair bleached.

  10. i’m a hairstylist & I love your list – thanks so much for sharing – it was so much fun to read!

  11. 12. During the Renaissance era, women shaved their hairlines and eyebrows, as this was a sign of intelligence.

The romans used hair color as a symbol of their social status. Noblewomen colored their hair red, middle class colored their hair blond, and poor women colored their hair black.

  13. If you’ve bleached your hair at least once and then dyed it another color. It only covers it. The blonde will always be in your hair. You cant see it because of the color. And yes, you can get pretty hair with cheap products, I always use drugstore products and I get compliments on how “shiny” my hair is.

  14. Did you know?…If you’ve bleached your hair at least once and then dyed it another color. It only covers it. The blonde will always be in your hair. You cant see it because of the color. If you bleach hair and then color it. To much, makes your hair fall out.coloring isn’t as bad, it still makes hair fall out. So be careful doing that. Dandruff shampoo sometimes makes dandruff worse. You can’t get pretty hair with cheap hair products. You use more and have to buy more. If you get expense shampoo you use less and its good for hair. So its pretty much the same price.

    • Who doesn’t know that if you bleach your hair, that hair will remain bleached, even when colored over???
Dandruff shampoo only makes things worse, if you do not really have dandruff. Most people do not know the difference between dandruff and dry scalp, which are 2 completely different things.
And yes, you can get pretty hair with cheap products, I always use drugstore products and I get compliments on how “shiny” my hair is. I also went to Cosmetology school and worked in salons for 10 yrs.

    • That is not true. Hair bleach literally eats your melanin which is the natural color. So your natural color is no more untill you get regrowth. And using professional product is better for your hair because it has quality ingredients that are specifically made for your hair type. I am a cosmetologist and have been doing hair for several years so my facts are correct.

African American hair does not grow slower. It looses moisture faster therefore breaks off easier, and appears to grow slower. If cared for properly it grows just as fast as European hair.

  16. 73. At one time, in Russia, there was a random tax for wearing a beard.

Peter the Great wanted to “westernize” Russia so he implemented the beard tax so Russian men would start to style themselves more like European men. Russian men kept long beards to protect the face from the extreme weather. The tax was so high that even the wealthiest men could not afford to keep their beards.

  17. In the past, individuals were limited to clothes, accessories and even hair coloring.
It was discovered after scientists took the drug for patients with glaucoma and limited use of chemicals causing the
eyelashes to grow. You want to make sure you go with one that lets you get the results you want the results
of temporary eyelash extensions result of relatively constant
    output growth of eyelashes.

  18. Your hair continues to grow while your body still has nutrients in it. As soon as those are all gone then the hairs stop growing.

  20. Number 73. Was not a random tax for having a beard it was a strategical move by Peter the great to weaken the power of the Eastern Orthodox Church

  21. #73 – The Russian tax on beards wasn’t random. It was in an effort to make Russia more modern, as the bearded style was very traditional and was a visual sign of Russia’s already slow paced progress into the “future”.

  22. i dont believe #96 saying cutting your hair doesnt* make it grow faster

    • cutting your hair does not change the rate at which it grows, however, by trimming hair regularly you remove split ends thus, preventing the hair from splitting further up the hair shaft which would make it more fragile and much more suseptible to breakage.

  23. i dont believe #96 saying cutting your hair does make it grow faster..

  24. #79 is not 100% correct. The growing stage of hair is Anagen, the resting phase of hair is Catagen, and Telogen is the phase where the hair falls out of the follicle.

  25. “It takes about 7 years to grow your hair to your waist, and 3 years to grow to your shoulders.” is this if you are completely bald?

    • Yeah pretty much. It’s saying that if your hair is to your waist, that hair has been on your head for 7 years without shedding.

    • I think so because this isn’t true for me. My hair grows pretty fast and died t take me 7 yrs

  26. #80 is not true… It appears to still grow because of moisture loss and shrinking or withdraw of skin, which exposes hair that was previously under the skin.

  27. Number 80 is wrong the hair and nails apear to keep growing but it actually is caused by the dehydration if the body. With out a constant blood supply feeding the hair it can not grow.

  28. #80 is not true. your hair does stop growing but it looks like your hair has grown because your skin shrinks which makes your hair appear longer
