When you go to the hair salon to get a haircut, do you know exactly how to communicate the type of hairstyle you want? A lot of people don’t know, and will accidentally tell the hairstylist that they want something other than what they really want. There are many variations of these haircuts, but I want to share with you the basics. Here are 13 different types of haircuts:
13. Blunt Haircut
This is the most basic form of haircut. This is literally where the hair is cut straight across, with no elevation (meaning the hair falls exactly like it would). The result is a very hard line with no texture.
About a month ago, I decided to take the plunge and chop off all of my hair. I tried to grow it out for my wedding last year, but it was so damaged and just looked stringy and gross. I figured that cutting my hair would not only be fun for summer, but would get rid of the dead ends and look fuller. And boy, was I right. Anyways, I really like my hair the length it is right now and will probably be keeping it this way for a while. This morning, as I was styling my hair, I thought that it would be fun to write an article, using only GIF images, to describe all the benefits of having short hair.
21. You use less shampoo.
The first time I washed my hair after cutting it, I squirted way too much shampoo in my hand. You will only need a tiny bit if your hair is short. This can add up to a lot of money saved.
So last night, my husband desperately wanted me to cut his hair so he could look “fresh” for Thanksgiving, where we will obviously be around family. He gets a fade haircut and I thought that it might be a cool experiment to time-lapse the whole haircut on my iPad.. and I think the results turned out pretty cool… (more…)
Unless you live under a rock, chances are you have heard the term “lob haircut” at some point during the last year. Lobs are definitely one of the biggest hair trends right now and I don’t see them going anywhere soon. So the question is: What exactly is a “lob”? … And what is the difference between a lob and regular bob haircut?
So, I have to share some of my personal confusion with you. When I recently googled “trendy hair,” this was the 4th image that popped up….
I guess I didn’t get the memo that “Laker-colored mushroom cuts with sideburns” is in style??? Even more confusing is that when I first posted this short article, I shared this image on Pinterest. It has been saved and repinned many times. I guess that means that people actually like this hairstyle. I mean, I may be getting older, but I just can’t see this as a popular hairstyle.
What are your thoughts on this trendy haircut? Do you like it? I’d love to read your feedback in the comments section below.
