5 Ways to Achieve Healthy Winter Hair

I actually wrote this article as a guest post and submitted it to 3 different blogs at 3 different times but have not heard anything back from any of them.  Since it is a seasonal post, and winter may be over soon, I wanted to make sure that it went to good use.  So here is “5 Ways to Achieve Healthy Winter Hair!”

Want healthy winter hair? Learn how to keep your hair healthy and happy this winter!

It’s that time of year again! The holidays are just around the corner and that means fun times with the family, cooking delicious food and relaxing by the fireplace. Amidst all of the activities, it’s easy to forget that you need to give your hair a little bit of extra TLC during these cold winter months. The cold weather can wreak havoc on your hair if you let it, but with this post, you can learn how to keep your locks healthy and happy through the entire season.  Here are 5 tips for healthy winter hair:

1. Sun Protection for Healthy Winter Hair

I know you are probably thinking to yourself “Wait, I thought this was an article about winter hair care.” It is. Just because it is winter, doesn’t mean your hair won’t be exposed to the sun. Thousands of people will be out, hitting the slopes each day, with their hair fully exposed to the sun (and other elements of nature). In fact, the UV rays reflecting off the snow can create extra sun damage.

Olympic Snowboard Gold Medalist, Jamie Anderson, recommends deep-conditioning your hair often, along with using hair products that will help repair hair damage if you plan on being out often. Also, SPF hair products do exist and they will protect your hair from damaging UV rays. Your best bet is to find a product with both sun protection and moisturizing properties… and remember, if in doubt, this is a great time of year to cover your hair up with a hat.
