Call me basic, but I LOVE fall. Pumpkin spice everything, delicious food, changing colors, cuddling up by the fireplace… I love it all. I’m also one of those people that likes to get in the mood for fall by changing all the scents in my house to pumpkin spice, and wearing more gold tones in my makeup. Since it is a pretty common practice for people to change their hair color in the fall, I decided to share with you a few of my favorite shades of fall hair color…
1. Rose Gold
Rose gold is one of my favorite shades of fall hair color. Well, it’s one of my favorite shades of modern hair color, period. To achieve this look, go for a faded pastel pink color with just a hint of ashy and/or orange undertones.
I’ve talked about burgundy hair before in my ever-popular article, 10 Different Shades of Red Heads. The color burgundy is named after a burgundy wine, which is what the color is modeled after. It is a darker purplish-red color and is very popular for fall hairstyles.
Caramel highlights and just caramel hair in color is a perfect shade for fall. In the summer, many people go more blonde (as your hair would naturally do when you spend more time outdoors), but caramel is a toned down version of blonde hair, which is more suitable or fall.
Auburn is slightly similar to burgundy hair color. However, auburn is more of a deep reddish-brown, with no purple undertones.
5. Golden Ombre
Golden ombre hair color is perfect for fall. Since we’ve already established how “basic” I am, I love to picture this hair color up in a messy bun, while wearing a plaid shirt, skinny jeans, and boots and holding a latte. That’s fall at it’s finest.
I’ve also previously written about what ecaille hair is, but I had to list it here; it embraces some of fall’s best tones. “Ecaille” means “tortoiseshell” and is meant to mimic those rich golden and caramel tones.
7. Burgundy and Gold Highlights
When I think about fall hair color, this is what I think about. I absolutely love when girls add some darker, red and purple lowlights in their hair in the fall.
8. Chocolate Brown
Chocolate brown hair is perfect for fall because of the richness of the hue. It also looks pretty when incorporated into highlights.
9. Pumpkin Spice
I wrote about #PumpkinSpiceHair a couple of years ago, but that article still gets repinned on Pinterest all the time. This leads me to believe that it is still pretty popular. This color is similar to auburn, but more or a copper tone. I absolutely love it.
Finally, I’ve also written about blorange hair earlier this year, but it is super popular, making it the perfect shade of fall hair color. The name, “blorange” comes from a combination of blonde and orange, and it can be pretty similar to rose gold (but with more orange).
