Today, I just want to enlighten you with a fun fact about hairless mammals… Did you know that only a few mammals on the planet are predominantly hairless?
This includes cetaceans (whales, dolphins and porpoises), walruses, elephants, rhinoceroses, hippopotamuses, sphinxes, naked mole rats, pigs, and various species of dogs.
The only reason that this is unusual, is that hair is a defining biological characteristic of being a mammal. But before you make fun of these little guys, keep in mind that humans are also on this list. Yeah, we do have some body hair and hair on our head. However, compared to the other mammals of the world, we are pretty hairless.
